About Dr. Hashim Ahmed

Dr. Hashim Ahmed, B. Pharm, MPhil, Ph.D., WHO Fellow, is a globally recognized expert in pharmaceutical R&D, industrial pharmacy, and pharmaceutical technology. With over 30 years of experience working with leading pharmaceutical companies in the United States and around the world, Dr. Ahmed brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Jabco Global LLC.

Education & Early Career

Dr. Ahmed earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with honors from the University of Khartoum (Sudan) in 1981. He then went on to receive a prestigious WHO Fellowship in 1985, allowing him to pursue further studies in England. He obtained his MPhil and Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Technology and Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Bath in 1990.

Dr. Ahmed began his career working with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health in the Essential Drug Programs for North Africa, where he played a key role in developing pharmaceutical strategies for the region.

Leadership in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Over the years, Dr. Ahmed has held senior leadership positions at some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies. He has served as a Research Leader at Hoffmann-La Roche Inc. (New Jersey, USA), where he oversaw entire pharmaceutical sciences and drug delivery teams. During his tenure at Stiefel-GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Dr. Ahmed led numerous development teams specializing in oral, injectable, and dermatology products.

In 2015, he became the Senior Director and Global Head of Technology Transfer at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (New Jersey), managing the global technology transfer functions. His role expanded in 2018, when he became the Validation-Expert Production Consultant at Sandoz, before taking on the role of Managing General Director at Qlife Pharma in Qatar, overseeing the entire pharmaceutical manufacturing plant.

Dr. Ahmed’s global experience also includes roles at AVOMEEN, a leading CDMO in Michigan, USA, where he established injectable biological manufacturing lines, and at Johnson & Johnson (J&J), where he currently works as a Consultant and Manager of Technology Transfer.

Global Contributions

Dr. Ahmed has contributed significantly to the pharmaceutical industry, both in the USA and globally. His work has led to the development of life-changing drugs, including antiviral therapies and dermatological treatments. As an inventor, Dr. Ahmed holds over 21 international patents and has authored more than 50 publications and presentations globally. His leadership and innovation in pharmaceutical technology have earned him numerous awards, including the GSK Gold Award and recognition as a WHO Fellow.
